And so it goes...

I just sat down at my local Dunn Bros. to invest some serious time into my thesis work. Had to drive today because I'm dogsitting Sam in the burbs. He's a sweet, old English springer spaniel who follows me around everywhere I go even though his arthritis causes him great pain to do so. I always tell him I'll be right back and he need not follow me out of the room, but I guess he doesn't believe me or something. It's tough to watch.

Anyway, I decided that in order to get some serious work done I would need to begin my outline and take some notes. This would require my laptop, which I don't usually allow because, let's face it, I'll end up on the internet instead of writing or reading. But with my new FlyLady plan to work fifteen minutes on and fifteen off, this couldn't distract me for long.

Here's the problem I've just now discovered: The only thing I actually brought with me is the laptop. No books. No articles. No handwritten notes that I've taken so far. Only the laptop.

I guess I'll be starting with fifteen minutes off.

When I finish writing this blog, the next fifteen won't count because I'll be driving back to the burbs and driving is not committed work time.

Then, finally, the next fifteen will be serious on time, with Sam at my feet.

And after that it'll be time to stop because I need to walk Sam and feed us both dinner before my plans tonight.

Sigh.

There must be a support group for this process.

It's called Procrastinators Anonymous founded and directed by bdoc ... when I have time to get to it.

Sigh.

What should I have for dinner?

jm makes a mean non-meat MEATloaf. Not sure she's sharing the recipe, though.

I was looking for a support group too. Everyone I began grad school with is gone. They're all professors with real jobs. Only I remain. Alas.
I've been workign more at home because inevitably i get to the coffee shop and realize something is missing. I'm sending you good work vibes this week...

Thanks for being my support, y'all. I need the vibes.
