My horoscope tells me that with Jupiter in my house of . . . um . . . something, I will have unprecedented good luck. But when the laptop died today, just as I was rounding the final bend of the Big-Ass Paper, that luck seemed as distant as Jupiter itself. Remaining calm, I remembered that I am meticulous about backing up the paper onto my jump drive. And what good luck! It was all there.
Sure, I have to take my f-ing laptop back to the computer place, pay loads of cash to get it fixed, wait weeks for it to return, and NOT blog in the meantime (unless stealing use of someone else's computer like I am now), but thank you Jupiter! The paper is still in tact and almost done.
So, I am afraid that even with all this extra, non-paper-writing time on my hands, I won't be able to keep you updated on the ins and outs of my life. Course, with the paper finished, what will I write about anyway?

You can use my computer until yours comes back.
I knew JM would come through for you.
And I have a theory - the horoscope is just making you see the brighter side of things - which is something we should all do anyway, so I'm definitely NOT critiquing Susan Miller. For example, before the blog you may have dwelled (obsessed) about the bad luck that the universe must be foretelling when the computer crashed on the day before the paper is due. Now, because the horoscope is predicting good luck, you saw the intact nature of the paper for what it really is: something to be thankful for (and a sign that luck is certainly in your future).
I think I'll go read my horoscope. Good luck must be close to my house since I"m just right next door to you, Scorpio.
i'm really happy for you that b.a.p. is nearly there.
and your backing up strategy is a good reminder for me.
kudos.
Was talking to MK today and found out you have a REAL blog. The only other blog I read that is written by someone I actually know is my new son-in-law...and that's sometimes scary!
Saw your entry from back in Sept. about Greg and his just-back-from-the-nurse student. So funny and so touching. Who can predict students?
Well, I'm inspired now...inspired to resurrect the logins and passwords from the various blogs I've started in the past year. 'Course then I might have to reveal something about myself, and you know how good I am at doing that!
mc! welcome. mk shared that she told you about the blog. Wish I was updating more often, but that pesky laptop is still in the shop. Let me know when you get your blog up and running!
