Just some slapdash thoughts that have very little to do with anything and a lot to do with everything.

The Squeamish Beware
Although few admit it, I know that I am not the only one who thinks it's kind of cool to find a yellow glob of mucus in the tissue after coughing or blowing your nose. Something very satisfying about such productivity. But it's not nearly as cool as the time that a greenish and bloody ball of disease came out of my nose at the end of a battle with tonsillitis. Through that entire sickness, I kept checking on the size of the white globule in the back of my throat and wondering, where the heck will that growth go when I'm better? Turns out, a sneeze can loosen a globule's grip, and when you blow your nose . . . voila! Proof that you are on the road to better health! I admit, I thought about keeping the evidence in a jar, but that's just weird. Instead, I just told everyone I knew about it. Nothing as fascinating as that happening in my body as I near the end of this cold, but it does bring back fond memories.

I do think it's kind of cool. I often check when I blow my nose to see what color it is. And I am sure we aren't the only ones that think it is cool. Hope you feel better soon. Love you.
i've heard this story before, and i don't think we even knew each other when the tonsilitis occurred -- clearly, it's a classic.
let's go over it again in chi-town. i'll add to the fun with a new wart saga.
sounds good to me. i'll weigh in with a detailed account of the globus. YAY!
Personally, I'm partial to blood blisters. There is just nothing as cool as slowly squeezing those things, waiting with bated breath to discover the exact mix of blood and pus. One of life's pleasures. Zits are a close second, though they have the unfortunate side effect of impossible-to-hide swelling and scarring.
I knew I wasn't alone. You are my people.
And yet, people still ask me... "but don't you miss the seasons?"
heck no. The last time I got sick for longer than 2 days was from a flight back from Minneapolis!
I once saw someone pull out their wart, root and all. That was fascinating. But I have to say that I feigned disgust just to make myself sound more "normal." By the looks of these comments, I'm more normal in this crowd.
