As expected, the trip Out East was wonderful. Ann, who put us up in her Brooklyn apartment, played hostess extraordinaire. She and Tyler were dogsitting the most precious little mutt of a dog, and the three of them made quite the happy family.
If Sophie knows what's good for her, she'll ditch her real owners and stick with the people who actually encourage sitting on the couch.
One of the highlights was meeting Bryan for Indian dosas followed by Magnolia Bakery cupcakes heavily coated with frosting. I rapped The Chronic (What?) Cles of Narnia for everyone as we scarfed down the sugary goodness and peered through the window to witness the magic of the cupcake design. Each Cupateer had a style all her own, and we stuck around long enough to determine the two-to-one ratio of cupcake productivity between a couple of the workers. Contestant A had style, speed, and swirl. Contestant B never stood a chance with his dainty pat-down method.
After a late lunch Saturday in Tribeca with running pal, Josh, Sass-a-frass and I made our way to Connecticut via the train, my favorite mode of transportation. The space between buildings tripled and the trees multiplied as we neared our Westport stop. Then we jumped into the leather-seated Jeep and drove twenty more miles to the other side of the world. I traded in the street and people watching for big screen TVs and two-hundred channels, coffee on the corner for Dunkin' Donuts ten minutes away, trendy shops with items beyond my income for, well, trendy shops with items beyond my income.

The great thing about being with Cassie is that we have as much fun lounging with a movie and Easy Mac as we do painting the town. Come to think of it, we aren't really town painters. She, undoubtedly, works her b-u-t-t off as a nanny, though. I just hope the family knows how lucky they are. At least the baby seems to get it. I even changed her diaper to lighten Cass's load. Just once, though. I was on vacation, after all.
And now I'm back. Sad to leave my sister, overwhelmed, once again, by life, and counting down the days until summer break.
