When I complained to best pal Jodi about being sick again, this time with some laryngitis/fever/cough thing, she knew just what to say: "Yeah, but you look so cute with your rosy cheeks. Like how someone with tuberculosis might look."
I tried to laugh at this, but I only managed a tortured wheeze.

I love compliments when you're sick. Sometimes we're at our best when we're at our worst.
Way to look on the bright side...
love that.
that's not usually my way. yesterday i had a stomach ache so i was pretty sure i had a tumor.
no pain today, so maybe i'm okay.
doesn't best pal JM know that now you'll have a complex about contracting tuberculosis? i'm sure she does, come to think of it - your 'ailments' are usually no secret to anyone ;-)
Since we don't see many people with TB anymore (thank god) I thought I'd mention that, at its peak, it was viewed as a "romantic" disease. Poets, artists and passionate lovers died of TB because they, like a flame, lived life quickly and burned hot and bright - but only briefly. Due to the fever, they tended to have rosey cheeks and a sparkly glow in their eyes. Just like jdoc.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TB...YOU DO NOT HAVE TB...YOU DO NOT HAVE TB
