Living Alone

As much as I need a roommate for financial reasons, I must say that I have been appreciating my time alone here at casa de doc. Plus, I've taken on new habits certain to annoy any cohabitant. For starters, to save money in this heat, I've unplugged all minor appliances. Microwave. TV. Stereo. Lamps. Even though the dryer is plugged in, I haven't used it for weeks and instead, I hang my wet clothes over every door handle, chair, and railing in the place. I've also darkened all windows with blankets and run only the ceiling fans instead of the air conditioner for all but about three hours of the day. Since that makes it relatively warm in here, clothing has become optional. And in a dark, quiet house where any small movement makes you sweat, why be awake anyway? So, I nap for a couple of hours each afternoon.

The best news of all is that I think I found someone to live with me. She can't move in until September, so I'll have at least one more month of doing whatever the hell I want in MY house.

Warning: Doing something for 28 days straight makes it a habit. And I'm pretty sure it takes longer than that to break one ...

I run the ac and keep my appliances plugged in but the ac doesn't work very well, so clothes are optional here too. Unless, you on the public furniture. Then, you at least have to lay a towel down. It's like being at a nudist colony. Not that I've been, but I've read. :)

Enjoy the naps and the nakedness.

I'm with ya! Also clothing optional and drying clothes rack is permanent fixture in living room. Habits are what make us fascinating. It's like that song by Train...Veronica? No. That's E. Costello. You know the one where the girl exercises in her high heels....
