BUDGET
I am putting myself on one. With Operation Dissertation Writing soon to be in full swing, it seems wise. I've never been much of a spender anyway, but it's still frightening to think that eventually I'll be contributing zero dollars to our family of two.
Don't worry. The budget will include a per diem for coffee-shop purchases. The writing will not happen at home. We all know that.

As long as the coffee shop expense is in there, the budget will be fine. You may want to put in some $ for simple rewards as well. I had a different take on rewards when I was writing the Dis. I didn't buy them when I accomplished something, but rather at totally random intervals, when I felt I wanted a reward.
This I like very much. I haven't given a thought to the dis today, but I might reward myself with some potato chips nonetheless.
I find budgeting to be kind of exciting. Isn't that weird? I just like to see how long I can stretch the cash.
A key to our budget is that we're cash-only except for gas and groceries.
