Wouldn't you know it. Sam was sad as could be that he had to return home from Nana and Papa's today. "I just like it better there," he told us. He also said he'd prefer never to go on any trips with us so he can stay with them and that we should let him spend the night when we go out to dinner or a play, too.
On our end, Dave and I walked around historic Boston, visited the storied Harvard campus, viewed some fine art at the
MFA, and ate several glorious meals at
renowned eateries. And one day we even slept in.
All in all, the weekend away from our children was a resounding success.

Your trip sounds great. I wish I could see that Hokusai exhibit.
Sam is a funny little character. I enjoy him so much.
A weekend away from kids must be swell, but I adore Sam and appreciate his love of everyone!
Sam loves the ones he's with. Except Dave, I guess. ;)
I did not see the Hokusai exhibit, mostly because I had this feeling that I had seen it before. But now I'm not sure.
I really wanted to see the Harriet Powers story quilt that I learned about in The Invention of Wings, but it was in storage.
The Gordon Parks exhibit was wonderful, though.
