Plugging Away

I've decided that I'm just plain slow when it comes to writing.

Despite knowing where I've been and where I'm going, I can't write more than a page for every two hours that I work on the big-ass paper for this process MUST include getting up every now and then to pee, eat, refill water glass, clip nails after biting them, stretch, stare at wall, and check e-mail (seriously, I've tried to cut each of these out and it's impossible). Before today, I told myself that I could get it together and write this mother quickly, but it's just not going to happen that way. Slow and steady is fine with me, except that the deadline now requires fast and slipshod.

This is disheartening.

Is there any way to get more hours out of the day? And is there anyone who knows what the metal pieces are for on this rooftop?

My buddy lh has asked if I know what the funky things are on this roof. I'm pretty sure they are put in for people to stand on to work on the roof. I would think a steep slate roof would be impossible to scale otherwise. btw, I got married in this church one time, when I was 22 and still too stupid to get married. And also...I SAW you gals in Blgtn, but was in traffic and with visiting pals and couldn't stop to say hello. Maybe we will meet next time you come.

How did you manage the picture of the roof? The leaves are beautiful!

Ddoc didn't fail you last time you asked him about home issues. Maybe you should try again ... Just don't let him WORK on the home. That's the key.

julie -- THANKS! I wish we had met too. I'm impressed by the knowledge Bloomingtonians have of their fair city.

I believe those metal things are to keep the snow and ice from falling on peoples' heads, otherwise the elements would slip right off the roof onto the unsuspecting.
